Evangeline and Jon said I do at the beautiful Southern Oaks Plantations here in New Orleans. We absolutely love shooting at this amazing venue. The staff and service is always top notch and they make their brides and guest feel like royalty!

The proposal from the bride!

Since he is gone so much, we had not really had any time during the summer to go away or do anything big for the year. As Christmas was approaching, we started planning a trip to Louisiana to see my family. Jon gave me a card and surprised me with a New Year’s cruise out of New Orleans with 2 of our friends as a getaway. We spent Christmas with the family, he secretly asked my dad to marry me and we set off on the cruise. He and his friend went through so much trouble to get the engagement ring through security and into our rooms without me seeing it. It was New Year’s Eve and we had been sailing and then getting ready for the ship party that night and Jon seemed not himself but we all chalked it up to getting used to being at sea. As the countdown began and everyone was on the dance floor, Jon had me to the side and tugged my arm for me to turn around and there he was, hand shaking, on one knee with the ring! Of course, I was completely surprised and said yes. We danced the rest of the night and celebrated with everyone on board.
